TwinEthos Lite MCP

A free, keyless MCP server that allows AI assistants to query TwinEthos for applicable AI laws, regulations, and standards in specific markets. It provides cited provisions, duty holders, effective dates, and recommended guardrails for AI features, serving as an informational resource for compliance planning.

Endpoint and access

TwinEthos Lite: AI-law rules anchored to official text, for conversations about building AI features. Use it when someone asks which laws apply to an AI feature (a chatbot, an agent, AI decisions about people such as hiring or credit, deepfakes and generated media, recommendations, retrieval over documents) in a market, what a law requires, when it starts or started applying, or what to build to address it. Tools: search_laws (find rules by market, feature and topic, ranked by relevance), explain_rule (one rule: who it applies to, dates, citation, the guard), plan_guards (the few guards that address the most rules), coming_into_force (dates ahead, soonest first) and recently_in_force (dates that have passed, newest first: use it for "what took effect recently" or "the most recent law"). Dates are when a duty starts applying, not when a law was enacted. Features are these codes: chat, rag, agentic, decision_pipeline, content_generation, classification, recommendation, embeddings. Markets are codes such as EU, US-CA, US-CO; US matches every state. Cite the provision and link the official source; say the lane (binding law in force, law not yet in force, standard, or TwinEthos recommendation, which is opinion, not law). Never say a guard makes an app compliant. Always relay the notice. TwinEthos Lite (free, no sign-up) covers which AI laws, regulations and standards apply to an AI feature in a market, the cited provision with its official link, who each duty applies to, when it applies, and the guard to add, in short answers. An API key is needed for code detectors, the full review checklist, bulk data and the coding-agent workflow: request MCP access at https://www.twinethos.com/docs/quickstart/#request. Answers are capped at 10 results, and calls are rate limited.

search_laws — Search AI laws
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Find the AI-law rules (EU AI Act, US state AI laws, China, Korea and other markets) that apply to an AI feature in a market, each with its cited provision and official link. When to use: someone asks which laws, regulations or standards apply to what they are building, or where a kind of AI feature is regulated (chatbot disclosure, hiring and employment decisions, credit or insurance decisions, deepfakes and digital replicas, companion chatbots and minors, AI-generated content labels, training data). jurisdictions: market codes (EU, US-CA, US-CO; US matches every state). features: AI integration patterns (chat, rag, agentic, decision_pipeline, content_generation, classification, recommendation, embeddings). text: words to match in rule titles, summaries and tags, such as "disclosure", "hiring" or "deepfake". Returns at most 10 rules, most relevant first (the words matched, then the rules specific to the features, then binding law in force), each with its lane, citation, official link, applies-from date and its page in the TwinEthos explorer. It does not sort by date: use coming_into_force or recently_in_force for dates. Limits: informational data, not legal advice.

explain_rule — Explain a rule
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

One rule in plain terms: what it requires (TwinEthos's summary), who it applies to and the uses it excludes, its dates, the exact citations with their official links, and the guard to add in one sentence. When to use: after search_laws, or when someone names a rule id. It never returns the official text itself. Limits: informational data, not legal advice.

Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

The few guards that address the most rules for these AI features and markets, ranked: each guard in one sentence, how many rules it addresses by lane, and where binding law on it applies. When to use: someone asks what to build first, or how to cover several markets at once. Returns at most 5 guards. Limits: informational data, not legal advice.

Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Binding AI-law obligations that start applying soon, soonest first, with citation, official link and the guard in one sentence. When to use: someone asks what is coming, what to prepare for, or which AI laws take effect next year. within_days: how far ahead to look (default 365, at most 730). Dates can change; returns at most 10, and `total` says how many there are. Limits: informational data, not legal advice.

recently_in_force — AI law recently in force
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Binding AI-law obligations that started applying recently, newest first, with citation, official link and the guard in one sentence. When to use: someone asks what took effect recently, when the most recent AI law in a market started applying, or what changed this year. within_days: how far back to look (default 180, at most 730). Each date is when a duty started applying, not when the law was enacted; a later phase of a law already in force is marked as one. Returns at most 10, and `total` says how many there are. Limits: informational data, not legal advice.
