Fonto Docs MCP

An MCP server that fetches Fonto XML Editor documentation from underlying DITA XML files and converts them to clean Markdown on demand, allowing AI assistants like Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to read and search the documentation directly.

Endpoint and access

No sign-in to connect and list tools. Individual tools may still need a vendor account, credentials, or permissions; check the documented prerequisites.

What its tools do

4 tools, grouped by the hints the server advertises. Hints are self-declared, not verified behavior.

4 of 4 have a description · 4 of 4 declare behavior hints · 4 of 4 with parameters document them all

Checks and signals

Each line is separate evidence, not a trust score.

  • Passed Endpoint answered the live check ·
  • Warning Advertises resources/templates/list but does not implement it
  • Availability 1 of 1 checks passed in 30 days

What you can do with it

  • Search Fonto documentation by keyword to find relevant pages
  • Fetch full Markdown content of a specific documentation page by slug
  • Resolve API symbol names directly to their documentation pages
  • List pages matching keywords with section hierarchy for discovery

lookup_api
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-onlyOpen-world

Look up a Fonto API symbol by exact name (function, class, manager, type, or component — e.g. 'documentsManager', 'createIconWidget', 'CvkOptions') and return its full documentation page in one call. Accepts call syntax ('registerWidget()'), import paths ('fontoxml-families/src/createIconWidget'), and member access ('documentsManager.getNodeById', resolved to the owner's page). Matching is case-sensitive first, so 'DocumentsManager' (class) and 'documentsManager' (instance) resolve to different pages; other same-named pages are listed as alternatives. If no page has that name, returns search suggestions instead — use search_fonto_docs for concepts or partial names.
