Agent use case: Place outbound phone calls for appointments

Document v1 · published by Koskamo · updated 2026-10-18

Original source

The agent successfully dials a target number, conducts a spoken conversation to confirm or schedule an appointment, and provides a transcript and summary of the interaction, with costs deducted from the user's prepaid balance.

The agent first checks the user's credit balance using get_balance to ensure sufficient funds are available, as calls are billed per started minute. It then uses have_conversation to autonomously dial the number and pursue the objective (e.g., confirming an appointment). The agent monitors the stream for the transcript and final summary. Before acting, verify the destination country is supported (e.g., US, UK, Canada) and that the call is not for emergency or premium-rate numbers, which are blocked by the server.

Prompt: Please call +1234567890 to confirm my appointment for tomorrow at 2 PM. Use the have_conversation tool to handle the dialogue autonomously. Check my balance first to ensure we have enough credits.
