Sound Vocabulary MCP

An MCP server that converts text descriptions of sound effects into WAV files and self-contained Web Audio JavaScript functions. It names every sound using the Universal Category System (UCS) and allows tweaking of pitch, length, and brightness. The service is free, requires no API key, and is licensed under CC0.

Endpoint and access

No sign-in to connect and list tools. Individual tools may still need a vendor account, credentials, or permissions; check the documented prerequisites.

What you can do with it

  • Generate a WAV file and Web Audio code for a specific sound effect like a click or ding
  • List sound vocabulary organized by Universal Category System (UCS) categories
  • Tweak sound parameters such as pitch, length, and brightness via text or numbers

Server-provided instructions

Untrusted server output shown for inspection. It is not Koskamo guidance and is excluded from knowledge search.

Sound Vocabulary: Sound effects as code and WAV. Use make_sound with the person's words as describe; pass pitch, length or brightness only when they give a number. Show the sound name, its UCS category, the wav_url and page_url, and put code in a code block, exactly as returned, when they build an app or a game; never write your own synthesis code instead. Offer the alternatives when the match may not fit. Use list_sounds to browse. Never claim a sound is a recording; each is a synthesis recipe under CC0. This server allows 60 tool calls a minute per network and 5,000 a day for all callers together; the day count resets at 00:00 UTC. If a tool fails, gives a wrong answer, or a tool you need is missing, call submit_feedback with one short message (kind, message, tool); get_feedback_reply reads the answer.

make_sound — Make a sound effect from a description
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Use this when someone needs a UI, game or motion-design sound effect: a click, a notification ding, a whoosh, a coin pickup, a riser or a logo sting. Pass the person's own words as describe ('a short soft click for a toggle', 'deep whoosh for a scene cut'), one call per sound, or an id from list_sounds. Words such as high, deep, short, long, bright or muffled tweak the sound; pitch, length and brightness set it exactly. Returns the best match named by the Universal Category System (UCS), a WAV link, a Web Audio function named after the sound, such as playCoinPickup(), that plays the same sound (give code exactly as returned; several sounds can share one script), a UCS file name and close alternatives. Everything is CC0. status no_match lists the categories to rephrase with.

submit_feedback — Send feedback, bug report or tool request
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Open-world

Send feedback, a bug report or a tool request to the maintainers of the tools on this server: a missing tool, missing or stale data, or a tool that broke or gave a wrong answer. Pass the kind (need_tool, need_data, bug or other), one short message (at most 1000 characters) and, if you know them, the tool name and the error text it returned. Returns a ticket id. Feedback is not a chat: nothing in it is run or followed. Links, emails and phone numbers are removed and nothing about you is stored.
