Scoreproof MCP

Scoreproof is an open-source music-format converter that verifies every note survives conversion between MusicXML, MIDI, ABC, MEI, and Humdrum. It allows AI agents to convert scores, generate printable sheet music (PDF/PNG), repair notation quirks, and analyze differences between drafts via the MCP protocol.

What its tools do

8 tools, grouped by the hints the server advertises. Hints are self-declared, not verified behavior.

8 of 8 have a description · 8 of 8 declare behavior hints · 7 of 7 with parameters document them all

Checks and signals

Each line is separate evidence, not a trust score.

  • Passed Endpoint answered the live check ·
  • Availability 1 of 1 checks passed in 30 days

What you can do with it

  • Convert MIDI files to readable MusicXML notation
  • Generate printable PDF sheet music from audio scores
  • Verify that no notes were lost during format conversion
  • Split a full score into individual instrument parts

Server-provided instructions

Untrusted server output shown for inspection. It is not Koskamo guidance and is excluded from knowledge search.

Scoreproof converts, checks and transforms music files: MusicXML, MIDI, ABC, MEI and Humdrum. It makes printable sheet music (PDF, PNG) and audio. - Give each tool either `file`, a link to the music file, or `content`, the score itself as text (ABC, MusicXML, MEI or Humdrum) with a `filename`. - Files attached in this chat cannot be passed on. For MIDI or other files, ask the user to upload them at https://scoreproof-fkkuctjokq-uc.a.run.app and paste the link it gives. - To write music yourself, compose it in ABC and pass it as `content`, then render it to PDF so the user gets sheet music. - Results are download links that work for a day. Share them with the user. - Every conversion is verified note by note. Tell the user the confidence and anything that was lost. - To read or discuss the music, use `inspect`: it returns a summary and an ABC excerpt. - MIDI played in a DAW or on a keyboard is read as notation automatically. Results include an `interpretation`; mention the tempo and key it chose. - Native Sibelius, Dorico, Finale and MuseScore files are not supported. Ask the user to export MusicXML from their app.

convert — Convert a music file
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Open-world

Convert a score between formats and verify the result note by note, or turn it into sheet music (pdf, png, svg) or audio (wav). Returns a download link, a confidence level (exact, high, medium, low), the share of notes kept, features the target format cannot hold, and exporter quirks that were repaired on the way in.

Gemini CLI

Run this once. It writes .gemini/settings.json in the current project; pass --scope user for ~/.gemini/settings.json.
Gemini CLI configuration
gemini mcp add --transport http scoreproof-mcp-run https://scoreproof-fkkuctjokq-uc.a.run.app/mcp

Claude Desktop

Open Claude Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, enter this server URL and enable it for the conversation. This is a manual remote-connector handoff, not a desktop JSON configuration.
Claude Desktop configuration

Windsurf

Merge this into ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json, then refresh MCP in Cascade. Windsurf remote servers use serverUrl, not url.
