repo-forensics-mcp
A local-first developer tool providing read-only MCP tools for Git repository archaeology. It offers functions to generate repository summaries, view recent changes, identify file hotspots, and check top-level hygiene metrics like large files and .gitignore presence. The server invokes local Git commands with fixed argument arrays, ensuring paths stay within the workspace and avoiding credential leakage by returning remote names instead of URLs. It does not fetch, push, write files, or send data over the network.
