Parallel Search MCP server

Exposes Parallel's Search and Extract APIs as web_search and web_fetch tools: objective-driven web search and token-efficient markdown extraction from URLs, with excerpts capped near 25,000 characters per call. Free anonymously at fast-mode rate limits; an API key bearer token or the separate /mcp-oauth endpoint raises limits and unlocks search-setting overrides.

Endpoint and access

No sign-in: your client connects and lists tools immediately, with no account or key.

Claude Code

Run this once in a terminal. It registers a Streamable HTTP server. Use --scope project to write .mcp.json for the repo.
Claude Code configuration
claude mcp add --transport http parallel-search https://search.parallel.ai/mcp

Codex

Run this once. Codex stores MCP servers in ~/.codex/config.toml (or .codex/config.toml in a trusted project).
Codex configuration

      "url": "https://search.parallel.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}

    "parallel-search": {
      "type": "streamableHttp",
      "url": "https://search.parallel.ai/mcp",
