Moving Polygons MCP

An official MCP server provided by Moving Polygons that enables AI agents to interact with the Moving Polygons platform. It allows users to create, edit, list, and publish animated polygon maps showing geographic changes over time. The server supports tools for managing map content, handling large file uploads, and searching for public maps, with some tools requiring OAuth authentication and others being publicly accessible.

Endpoint and access

No sign-in to connect and list tools. Individual tools may still need a vendor account, credentials, or permissions; check the documented prerequisites.

Server-provided instructions

Untrusted server output shown for inspection. It is not Koskamo guidance and is excluded from knowledge search.

Moving Polygons (movingpolygons.com) publishes animated maps of how borders, territories and other regions change over time: empires, wars, nations, provinces, epidemics, sea ice. These read-only tools find published maps and return their timelines as text. Use search_maps when the user asks for a map, timeline or visual of a historical period, war, empire or region. Give the user the map's url (it plays in the browser and can be embedded with the iframe code from get_public_map). To make or edit maps in their own account, the user connects the signed-in server at https://www.movingpolygons.com/mcp.
