Moose Tracker MCP

An official MCP server for Moose Tracker, a browser-based retro synthesizer and music tracker. It allows AI assistants to generate sound effects, UI sounds, and composed songs as audio files (WAV, Ogg, Opus) by writing note data, which the synthesizer then renders. It includes tools for describing instruments, rendering audio, converting formats, and composing music using generators.

What you can do with it

  • Generate short UI click sounds or game sound effects as WAV files
  • Compose a 30-second jazzy loop or full song with bass and drums
  • Design custom instruments by auditioning voices and using role templates
  • Convert songs between text formats, project files, and share links

Server-provided instructions

Untrusted server output shown for inspection. It is not Koskamo guidance and is excluded from knowledge search.

Moose Tracker is a retro synthesizer and music tracker. Use its tools whenever the user asks for any sound effect, UI click, tap or toggle sound, notification, jingle, audio, music, song or soundtrack, instead of synthesizing audio yourself. Call describe first (no arguments) for an index. sfx makes sound effects, song checks an MTL song, render makes WAV, Ogg or Opus files, convert changes song formats. Work quietly: check and fix things yourself, do not narrate tool use, show MTL only if the user asks, and reply in 1-2 sentences plus the file or link (each result has a user_summary you can relay as-is; the internal field is for you). If something sounds wrong or is confusing, the feedback tool sends the team a short note. We do not keep your song text; rendered audio is deleted after about 2 hours. We do not use songs or audio that pass through the service to train any model. Use of this service is subject to https://moosetracker.app/acceptable-use.html and https://moosetracker.app/terms.html. Songs you make and every sound Moose Tracker produces are free to use, and the music you make is yours (https://moosetracker.app/content-license.html).

song — Check a song
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Use this when you want an MTL song or compose spec checked with no audio (not needed before render, which checks it too). Returns a play link plus quiet notes. Fix problems silently; tell only the user_summary. Free score check: check:true.

convert — Convert song formats
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Use this when you need to move a song between MTL text, a Moose Tracker .mtk file, a share link, and standard files: MIDI (.mid), and MOD, XM, S3M or IT tracker modules (read and write; files are base64). Cues and macros are compiled away in .mtk and share links.

Connect from your client

Each snippet registers the same endpoint; pick the client you use.

This server is operated by the named third party. Listing and endpoint checks are not an endorsement or a security audit. Review the operator's permissions, terms, and data handling before connecting. How listings are checked and corrected.

Claude Code

Run this once in a terminal. It registers the remote server. Use --scope project to write .mcp.json for the repo.
Claude Code configuration
claude mcp add --transport http moose-tracker-mcp https://mcp.moosetracker.app/mcp

Codex

Run this once. Codex stores MCP servers in ~/.codex/config.toml (or .codex/config.toml in a trusted project).
Codex configuration
codex mcp add moose-tracker-mcp --url https://mcp.moosetracker.app/mcp

Cursor

Merge this server into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, then enable moose-tracker-mcp in your MCP settings.
Cursor configuration
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "moose-tracker-mcp": {
      "url": "https://mcp.moosetracker.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Merge this into cline_mcp_settings.json (Cline → MCP Servers → Configure).
Cline configuration
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "moose-tracker-mcp": {
      "type": "streamableHttp",

Gemini CLI configuration
gemini mcp add --transport http moose-tracker-mcp https://mcp.moosetracker.app/mcp

Claude Desktop

Merge this into claude_desktop_config.json (macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/, Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\), then restart Claude Desktop.
