Model Salt MCP

Model Salt provides an MCP server that injects external randomness (hardware and quantum noise) into AI model outputs. This allows creative requests to yield varied results while strictly adhering to the user's prompt, ensuring diversity without losing relevance. It operates without requiring sign-in, API keys, or installation for the remote endpoint.

Endpoint and access

No sign-in to connect and list tools. Individual tools may still need a vendor account, credentials, or permissions; check the documented prerequisites.

What its tools do

1 tool, grouped by the hints the server advertises. Hints are self-declared, not verified behavior.

Read-only (1)

1 of 1 have a description · 1 of 1 declare behavior hints · 1 of 1 with parameters document them all

Checks and signals

Each line is separate evidence, not a trust score.

  • Passed Endpoint answered the live check ·
  • Passed Official MCP Registry namespace is tied to modelsalt.com ·
  • Passed Endpoint is on the registry namespace domain ·
  • Availability 1 of 1 checks passed in 30 days

What you can do with it

  • Generate varied creative content like stories, poems, or names
  • Create diverse image generation prompts with consistent quality
  • Introduce controlled randomness to AI model outputs via MCP
  • Enable different answers for the same prompt using external entropy

Model Salt: before a creative or open-ended request, call model_salt with the request word for word, do the exploring step it returns silently, call it again with the id and your reply, then make the result so it shows what was decided: for an image request, generate the image with your image tool.

Call this before any creative or open-ended request (an image, a picture prompt, a story, a poem, a name, an idea, a design, a plan), so the result is varied instead of your usual answer and still exactly what was asked. First call: send the user's request word for word in `request` (and `randomness` only if the user asked for more or less variety). It returns an exploring step and an `id`. Do that step silently, without showing it to the user, and call this tool again with the `id` and your whole reply to the step in `explored`. The second call returns what was decided. Then make the result itself in the same reply: for a request for an image, generate the image with your image generation tool and show it (a written prompt is not the result); for writing, write it. The result shows every decided answer.

Claude Code

Run this once in a terminal. It registers the remote server. Use --scope project to write .mcp.json for the repo.
Claude Code configuration
claude mcp add --transport http model-salt-mcp-modelsalt https://modelsalt.com/mcp

Codex

Run this once. Codex stores MCP servers in ~/.codex/config.toml (or .codex/config.toml in a trusted project).
Codex configuration
codex mcp add model-salt-mcp-modelsalt --url https://modelsalt.com/mcp

Cursor

Merge this server into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, then enable model-salt-mcp-modelsalt in your MCP settings.
