MAC Address Lookup MCP

A stateless MCP server over Streamable HTTP that exposes a single 'lookup' tool. It resolves a MAC address or OUI prefix to its registered organization by longest-prefix match using IEEE registry data. No API key, auth, or session is required.

Endpoint and access

No sign-in to connect and list tools. Individual tools may still need a vendor account, credentials, or permissions; check the documented prerequisites.

What its tools do

1 tool, grouped by the hints the server advertises. Hints are self-declared, not verified behavior.

Read-only (1)

1 of 1 have a description · 1 of 1 declare behavior hints · 1 of 1 with parameters document them all

Checks and signals

Each line is separate evidence, not a trust score.

  • Passed Endpoint answered the live check ·
  • Passed Official MCP Registry namespace is tied to mac.jasontally.com ·
  • Passed Endpoint is on the registry namespace domain ·
  • Availability 1 of 1 checks passed in 30 days

What you can do with it

  • Resolve a MAC address to its vendor organization
  • Identify the registered organization for an OUI prefix
  • Find the registration country for a MAC block

Server-provided instructions

Untrusted server output shown for inspection. It is not Koskamo guidance and is excluded from knowledge search.

Public, read-only MAC address and OUI lookup derived from the IEEE Registration Authority registries. Call lookup once per address. The record page at the returned url carries the organization address, the block range, and ownership history.

lookup — Look up a MAC address or OUI prefix
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Resolve a MAC address or OUI prefix to its registered organization using longest-prefix match across the MA-L, MA-M, MA-S, IAB, and CID registries. Reports the block type, address count, registration country, and a link to the full record page. Randomized and locally administered addresses usually have no registered organization.

Claude Code

Run this once in a terminal. It registers the remote server. Use --scope project to write .mcp.json for the repo.
Claude Code configuration
claude mcp add --transport http mac-address-lookup-mcp https://mac.jasontally.com/mcp

Codex

Run this once. Codex stores MCP servers in ~/.codex/config.toml (or .codex/config.toml in a trusted project).
Codex configuration
codex mcp add mac-address-lookup-mcp --url https://mac.jasontally.com/mcp

Cursor

Merge this server into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, then enable mac-address-lookup-mcp in your MCP settings.
