labmcp-scpi MCP
A generic MCP server that allows AI agents to interface with any SCPI or IEEE 488.2 compliant laboratory instrument. It supports communication over GPIB, USBTMC, LAN (VXI-11, HiSLIP, raw socket), and RS-232 via VISA. The server includes safety features like command allow/deny lists and requires confirmation for write operations to prevent accidental instrument changes.
Package and access
Local package with source-attributed installation metadata. Koskamo does not execute packages during review.
What you can do with it
- Query instrument status using single read commands
- Configure instrument settings via confirmed tool calls
- Simulate instrument behavior for testing without hardware
- List available VISA resources for device discovery
