labmcp-epics MCP
An MCP server for EPICS Channel Access that allows AI agents to read, monitor, and perform guarded writes of process variables. It utilizes caproto, a pure-Python implementation, requiring no compilation or external C libraries. Designed for scientific instruments like particle accelerators and beamlines, it supports simulated testing and connects via standard CA network protocols.
Package and access
Local package with source-attributed installation metadata. Koskamo does not execute packages during review.
What you can do with it
- Read EPICS process variables over Channel Access
- Monitor real-time changes to PVs
- Perform guarded writes to control instruments
- Simulate EPICS IOCs for testing without hardware
