The ITIS MCP server provides access to the Integrated Taxonomic Information System, allowing agents to search for authoritative US-government taxonomy data for plants, animals, fungi, and microbes. It supports resolving scientific names to Taxonomic Serial Numbers (TSNs), walking the full taxonomic hierarchy from kingdom to taxon, and retrieving vernacular common names in multiple languages for specific taxa.
