GlobeNow.tv MCP
A public, read-only MCP server that allows AI agents to retrieve city news videos and find live TV channels. It supports MCP Apps for embedding the 3D globe and video player directly in chat interfaces, requiring no authentication or API keys.
Endpoint and access
No sign-in to connect and list tools. Individual tools may still need a vendor account, credentials, or permissions; check the documented prerequisites.

get_city_news — See a place on the GlobeNow 3D globe
Use when the user asks what is happening in a city or place (e.g. 'news from Tokyo', '台北发生了什么'). Returns the latest news videos filmed or reported there (default: last 24 hours) with outlets, coordinates and links to the city page and the 3D globe. In clients that support MCP Apps it shows a place card (city photo from Wikimedia, place name) with one button that opens the full GlobeNow.tv 3D globe at that place in a new tab, where the user drags the globe and taps a light to play that video.

Use when the user wants to watch a TV channel or live news (e.g. 'play BBC News', '凤凰卫视直播', 'Japanese news live'). Finds free, official 24/7 live channels (news, business, kids, music, religious and more; Simplified/Traditional Chinese names both work) with country, language, whether the stream plays worldwide and current viewers. In clients that support MCP Apps the best match starts playing right away in GlobeNow.tv's player; it can move to picture-in-picture and keep playing while the user chats.
