Georgia Commons: Georgia's public government documents as source text. Search uses Voyage AI embeddings and a Voyage reranker to rank passages; no model writes any text a tool returns. Every passage, document, and quote comes from stored source text; Georgia Commons' AI-written summaries are labeled as such and are never source text. Held now: - The Official Code of Georgia Annotated, current through the 2025 Regular Session of the General Assembly. - Georgia General Assembly bills and resolutions from the 2026 Special Session, 2025-2026 Regular Session: 5,656 measures, 5,652 with stored text, with actions through 2026-07-11. - Opinions of the Supreme Court of Georgia filed from 2020-01-13 through 2026-11-03: 1,792 opinions. - Floor or committee amendments from Georgia State Senate, 2026-09-25 through 2026-09-25: 315. - The Constitution of the State of Georgia and the Constitution of the United States, as printed in the Official Code of Georgia Annotated. - Machine transcripts of 623 Georgia House and Senate meetings from 2026 (946.7 hours of video): floor sessions, full standing committee meetings, and Rules Committee meetings with a video on the chamber's Vimeo channel. - Floor or committee amendments from Georgia House of Representatives, 2026-09-25 through 2026-09-25: 35. Tools: search (find documents and passages across every collection: a question or keywords, optional filters, linked_to (documents linked to one id), parent (inside a Code title or chapter), mode best or all, sort, cursor); fetch (one document by id or any written form (a bill number, a docket, a citation, a URL), as Markdown in 60,000-character windows, with its versions, links, and parts; a hierarchy node returns its children); get_coverage (what is held, by source, type, body, and dates, with the gaps; takes the same filters); describe_site (this orientation: the id grammar, the filter vocabularies, the bodies); verify_quote (whether a quotation is word for word in a stored document (or a given version)). Plain-language questions work: search ranks passages by meaning as well as by words, so you need not guess the documents' vocabulary. Filters narrow it (document type, level of government, body, place, dates, session, status). mode: all lists every match it found, a page at a time with a total; it reports what it found, which may not be everything. Ids are typed: bill:2025-2026/hb136 (a bill), opinion:S26A0060 (a Supreme Court of Georgia docket; opinion:S20Y0209/10680162 when a docket holds two decisions), code:44-7-34 (a Code section), ga-const:art-i-sec-i-para-i and us-const:amend-xiv (constitution provisions), meeting:2026-02-05/house-rules (a House or Senate meeting), amendment:2025-2026/hb136/233456 (an amendment). A version adds @key (bill:2025-2026/sb3@229722). Hierarchy nodes: code:root, code:t16, code:t16/c11, ga-const:art-i. Cite what you use by its id and url; check a quotation with verify_quote before you rely on it. Georgia Commons is an independent project of Georgia Civic Data, not affiliated with the State of Georgia, its courts, or any agency. Nothing here is legal advice. The official documents are linked from every result as source_url.

search — Search Georgia's public documents
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-onlyOpen-world

Search every collection at once: Georgia General Assembly bills (every version) and amendments, Supreme Court of Georgia opinions, the Official Code of Georgia Annotated and the Georgia and U.S. constitutions, and machine transcripts of House and Senate meetings. Plain-language questions work: results are ranked by meaning as well as by words. Returns documents with their best passages (each with a citation `version_id#start-end` and a deep link), facet counts to narrow by, the interpretation used (identifiers found, places, bodies), a confidence band, and coverage notes that say when the records asked about are not held. Empty `query` with filters browses. `mode: all` lists every match found, sorted by date, a page at a time with `cursor` and a total of what was found.

fetch — Read one document
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Read one document by id or any written form (bill:2025-2026/hb136, SB 3, opinion:S26A0060, 317 Ga. 528, code:16-11-127, O.C.G.A. § 16-11-127, ga-const:art-i-sec-i-para-iii, meeting:2026-02-05/house-rules, a page URL) as Markdown, at most `max_chars` (default 60,000) from `start`, with a pointer to the rest. `metadata` lists its versions, links grouped by relation, and parts (`part` reads one: a bill's votes or history, a meeting's transcript). A version id (`...@key`) reads that version. A hierarchy node (code:t16, code:t16/c11, ga-const:art-i) returns its children. A bill number used in more than one session returns the choices. `around` takes a passage citation from search and returns the text around it.

get_coverage — What Georgia Commons holds
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

What Georgia Commons holds, computed now: each source's documents by type and issuing body, date ranges, how much is searchable by meaning, the last update, the qualifications, and what is not held yet (local governments, school boards, the Court of Appeals). Filters narrow it.

verify_quote — Check a quotation
Advertised by the server during the last successful anonymous check.
Advertised read-only

Check whether a quotation appears word for word in a stored document (or one version of it), after normalizing whitespace, typographic quotes and dashes, [T]he-style alterations, amendment marks, and case. Use it before relying on a quotation.

90-day uptime

A lightweight connection check about every six hours, sampled on hosts with many listings. It shows the server answered, not that its tools work.

Too few checks for a percentage yet (2 of 2 answered).

Connect from your client

Each snippet registers the same endpoint; pick the client you use.

This server is operated by the named third party. Listing and endpoint checks are not an endorsement or a security audit. Review the operator's permissions, terms, and data handling before connecting. How listings are checked and corrected.

Claude Code

Run this once in a terminal. It registers the remote server. Use --scope project to write .mcp.json for the repo.
Claude Code configuration
claude mcp add --transport http georgia-commons-mcp https://mcp.georgiacommons.org/mcp

Codex

Run this once. Codex stores MCP servers in ~/.codex/config.toml (or .codex/config.toml in a trusted project).
Codex configuration
codex mcp add georgia-commons-mcp --url https://mcp.georgiacommons.org/mcp

Cursor

Merge this server into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, then enable georgia-commons-mcp in your MCP settings.
Cursor configuration
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "georgia-commons-mcp": {
      "url": "https://mcp.georgiacommons.org/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Cline

Merge this into cline_mcp_settings.json (Cline → MCP Servers → Configure).
Cline configuration
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "georgia-commons-mcp": {
      "type": "streamableHttp",

Gemini CLI

Run this once. It writes .gemini/settings.json in the current project; pass --scope user for ~/.gemini/settings.json.
Gemini CLI configuration
gemini mcp add --transport http georgia-commons-mcp https://mcp.georgiacommons.org/mcp

Claude Desktop

Open Claude Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, enter this server URL and enable it for the conversation. This is a manual remote-connector handoff, not a desktop JSON configuration.
Claude Desktop configuration

Windsurf

Merge this into ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json, then refresh MCP in Cascade. Windsurf remote servers use serverUrl, not url.
Windsurf configuration
