BrewMyPDF MCP

An official MCP server that allows AI agents to list PDF templates, describe their data schemas, preview renders as HTML, and generate final PDF documents using the user's existing API key and quota.

Endpoint and access

API key: create a key with the vendor first; your client sends it as an authorization header on every request.

Checks and signals

Each line is separate evidence, not a trust score.

  • Passed Endpoint answered the live check ·
  • Passed Official MCP Registry namespace is tied to brewmypdf.com ·
  • Passed Endpoint is on the registry namespace domain ·

BrewMyPDF turns a saved template plus JSON data into a PDF. Normal order: list_templates -> describe_template_schema -> preview_template -> render_pdf. - list_templates gives you the ids. Start here. - describe_template_schema returns the exact JSON shape and binding paths a template expects. Call it before sending data instead of guessing field names. - preview_template is free, returns HTML, and reports binding warnings telling you which value was missing or wrong. A warning is not a failure. - render_pdf spends one render from the account quota and returns a signed download URL. If the render is slow you get {job_id, status:"queued"} instead - that is not an error. Limits worth knowing before you try: - These tools cannot create or edit templates. Templates are made in the web editor or through the REST API (POST /v1/templates). Ask the user to create one if none exists. - PDF only. For other image formats, webhooks or batches, use the REST API. - Expressions are a small sandboxed language, not JavaScript, and images must be data: URIs. When a tool fails it answers with isError and a message you can read and act on. A protocol error instead means the call itself was malformed - an unknown tool name or a missing required argument - so re-read the tool list rather than retrying with new values. 90-day uptime

A lightweight connection check about every six hours, sampled on hosts with many listings. It shows the server answered, not that its tools work.

Too few checks for a percentage yet (1 of 1 answered).

This server is operated by the named third party. Listing and endpoint checks are not an endorsement or a security audit. Review the operator's permissions, terms, and data handling before connecting. How listings are checked and corrected.

Claude Code

Run this once in a terminal. It registers the remote server. Use --scope project to write .mcp.json for the repo.
Claude Code configuration
claude mcp add --transport http brewmypdf-mcp https://brewmypdf.com/mcp

Codex

Run this once. Codex stores MCP servers in ~/.codex/config.toml (or .codex/config.toml in a trusted project).
Codex configuration
codex mcp add brewmypdf-mcp --url https://brewmypdf.com/mcp

Cursor

Merge this server into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, then enable brewmypdf-mcp in your MCP settings.

Gemini CLI

Run this once. It writes .gemini/settings.json in the current project; pass --scope user for ~/.gemini/settings.json.
Gemini CLI configuration
gemini mcp add --transport http brewmypdf-mcp https://brewmypdf.com/mcp

Claude Desktop

Open Claude Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, enter this server URL and enable it for the conversation. This is a manual remote-connector handoff, not a desktop JSON configuration.
