ALF Atlas (hudassistedliving.loan) answers questions about assisted living in the 50 states and DC: who licenses it and under which license types, how much licensed supply each state's own list shows (13 states publish one with capacity), CDC/NCHS residential care survey estimates, and FHA-insured HUD Section 232 assisted living loans. Sources: state licensing agency sites (checked October 24, 2026); state facility lists (dates per state); CDC/NCHS National Post-acute and Long-term Care Study (2020 is the latest wave with state figures); HUD's active FHA insured mortgage file and its Office of Healthcare Programs endorsement database. Every result names its source and date; cite them. This is reference data, not a referral service for families seeking care, not legal or licensing advice, and not a loan quote, appraisal or commitment. For a specific facility's license status, use the state agency's own lookup. The site is published by Janover Capital LLC and is not affiliated with HUD, FHA, CDC or any state agency.
